RE: BC to Oregon Coast in September

I would not depend on the unprofessional opinions of this forums members on information that changes often. Suggest that you review current info on the CPB.gov web site:
general info

info on pets

RE: Next Stop??? Need Suggestions Please

I would stay in Idaho as long as possible or until the first snow flies. Have you considered the Challis area?

RE: ROD parks going KOA?

KOA parks are not members only parks. Being a KOA member only provides a 10% discount plus gobs of junk mail. Not all KOA parks Keep on Adding. If they are close to a popular destination, they will be expensive as all parks in that area will be. Most KOA parks are privately owned and only use the KOA brand for marketing purposes. There are are no standards from one park to the next. Some are good, some are so-so and some bad.
Don't know about ROD transition. I suspect that the developer just decided to change affiliation from ROD to KOA. According to the KOA Yosemite South in Coursegold web site, they are under new management.

RE: Colorado

The only pass you will be going over is North La Veta Pass. We hauled our 35 ft. 5th wheel over this pass last year. Do not recall any drastic conditions. Nice two lane road with wide shoulders. East to west, long grade up to the summit, shorter grade down. West of South Fork is the Wolf Creek pass. It's a little more challenging, but not dangerous. Hundreds of RVs and 18 wheelers go over both passes each day.

We always stay at Cadillac Ranch. Was last there October 2007. Will probably go back Jan. 2009 for the Valley of Gods balloon festival.

RE: Fried Pies

Where I come from (the Ozarks) they are not deep fat fried. They are made with short biscuit dough and pan fried in a small amount of lard in a cast iron skillet under medium heat. Cooked on one side until brown, turned, covered with lid and cooked until second side is brown.

RE: US 50 from Pueblo,Co to Grand Junction,Co

As usual, johnna is right (think she had a typo though, should be 89 and not 98).
No typo. I did mean AZ-98 between US-160 and US-89 at Page via Kaibito.
